Cowboys Have More Than $7M In Cap Room

Sep 3, 2014 12:41 AM

The Cowboys may be done making moves this offseason, but that isn't because they don't have any cap space remaining. Dallas has $7.18 million in cap space at the moment, according to figures released by Pro Football Talk. That number factors in the $5 million penalty the team incurred a few months ago for operating outside of the "spirit of the rules" when giving Miles Austin a front-loaded deal during the uncapped 2010 season.

Oct 31, 2014 7:22 PM

Drew Brees should know within a week if he'll collect nearly $4 million more than the NFL says he's due if he's franchise-tagged for a third time in 2013. The Saints quarterback, who was represented by the NFL Players Association, had an hour-long grievance hearing before arbitrator Stephen Burbank on Wednesday in Philadelphia. The hearing was to gain clarity on the interpretation of franchise-tag rules and the contract's total value, and Burbank said he'd rule on the issue within a week, according to a league source.
